Nowadays it is difficult to get a bowl of good Pig's Organ Soup 猪什汤 in Singapore. Always a delight when you're craving for hot soup, especially during rainy days.
Situated along the long stretch of Jalan Besar Road, you can certainly see the signboard that sells traditional pig organ soup.
Their pig's organ soup is priced at $4 and $6. The main difference is in the quantity of the ingredients. Besides having its own soup, they also offer a variety of other different dishes as well.
Need not worry about the amount of soup given as it's refillable. Their braised sauce is free flow too! If you need a top up for your soup, just bring it to the dedicated soup top up counter.
Inside the soup, it has pig liver, sliced pork, pork belly, pork ball, tofu, and salted vegetables.
Most eateries out there usually serves their broth containing a very lots of pepper added. The soup here is well balanced, not porky and not overpowered by the crunchy salted vegetable. They have managed to reduce the saltiness of the soup to the minimum while still generous with their quantity of the ingredients. I enjoyed every spoon of it and has drank 3 bowl of soup straight!
The sliced porks are tender, succulent, without the dryness texture.
There are 2 stalls known for their pig organ soups in Jalan Besar, both with almost the same name. While its competitor with the same name located at Foch Road might seem more crowded, I prefer the soup here as they are lighter, more balanced flavor.
Indeed, this is a great place to check it out if you are over here at Jalan Besar Road!
